“Come, come, whoever you are. Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving. It doesn't matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times. Come, yet again , come , come.” Rumi

Remain Muslim or..Die?

11:28
Sahih International
He said, "O my people have you considered: if I should be upon clear evidence from my Lord while He has given me mercy from Himself but it has been made unapparent to you, should we force it upon you while you are averse to it?

"The apostasy law" is based on a single Hadith that was never endorsed by all Muslim clerics.
Killing a Muslim who decides to leave Islam is in discordance with the Muslim sacred book. Islam clearly grants one's right to decide for her/his own belief. Quran indeed says
"And say: "The truth [has now come] from your Sustainer: let, then, him who wills, believe in it, and let him who wills, reject " al kahf (The cave):verse 29
Muslim Scholars explain the non relevancy of the apostasy law:
Dr.Tareq Mohammed Al-Suwaidan, Kuwaiti leader of the Kuwaiti Muslim Brotherhood : The law of apostasy is political and has nothing to do with the religion of Islam."
Dr.Saadeddin Al-Hilali, a professor of Islamic jurisprudence at Al-Azhar University : The concept of killing an apostate is indeed widespread among some Muslim communities but it is not the norm.
Dr.Adnan Ibrahim, president
of the Intercultural Dialog Association in Vienna, Austria and a Muslim thinker and speaker: The apostasy law is not mentioned in the Muslim sacred book.
